Meet your host James Haywood
James first honed his skills in broadcasting at the Australian Radio School in Adelaide. Upon completing his studies in 2020, he became a broadcaster for 4MBS Classic FM (Queensland’s classical community radio station). For five years, he hosted the breakfast show, Daybreak Classics. In addition to Daybreak Classics, James has also hosted the live broadcasts of the Sydney International Piano Competition and the Lev Vlassenko Piano Competition. Broadcasting aside, as a 4MBS Board Member, he also played an important role in the station’s governance. He helped enact policy, and also organised and presented networking evenings for young musicians.
Since 2025, James has produced and presented the podcast Meet the Musicians. With this podcast, he seeks to support young, emerging artists and to further his life’s passion – supporting the arts in the UK and abroad.
